If you are interested in forming some sort of mental health special interest group (SIG) at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM).  Our first step is to meet as a developing community at the upcoming annual meeting and obtain 40 signatures of members interested in forming this SIG (yes, the signatures need to be from AAHPM members).  We will have a booth at the opening reception and also have a meeting Saturday, March 10 @ 7:15am.  Please stop by either or both to lend your signature to the effort.  Please also encourage anyone you think might be interested to stop by as well.

In addition, at the Saturday morning meeting we will also:

1. Meet each other
2. Gather signatures of support
3. Discuss what the name of the SIG should be
4. Determine the purpose of this SIG
5. Explore potential activities of the SIG
6. Determine SIG Leadership for 2012-2013 (Chair and Chair Elect)
7. Discuss possible SIG Symposia Submissions for 2013
